I think that heat and air are necessities. Of course, I live in Oklahoma, where they can be necessities on the SAME DAY. Just because there is rain does not mean it is cooling the air. It can ramp up the humidity, and make the heat feel worse.

I don’t like window units, they are dangerous. I am glad that your electricity is fixed, and that you have cooling going on from a central unit.

I’m Soooo glad you had problems with your a/c so you found out about your wiring. Sorry it cost you $3500., though. But at least your family is safe.

I agree with Jan. Air conditioning IS a necessity.

Now there is a blessing in disguise. How wonderful that you were able to fix it before a fire and cool house to boot.

I definitely think air conditioning is a necessity.

YIKES! So glad that it was discovered before doing any harm!!! I didn’t have a/c the one summer I was in Colorado, but I was lucky enough to live in a brick building with great cross-ventilation. Otherwise, I don’t think I’d have made it.

Oh my…when we lived in CO we didn’t have air conditioning…and I kept hearing people say how we didn’t need it there..and EVERYONE was complaining about how hot they were all the time. I’m SO glad you have central air now in your “tin can”. What a nice relief!
